Review: Maple Holistics Shampoo & Conditioner

As you probably know from a previous shampoo and conditioner review I can be quite fussy when it comes to trying new ones. I was very kindly asked by Rachel at from Maple Holistics who are a beauty complany based in the US and they manufacture their own all natural products. What I love about this company is all their products are animal cruelty free!

Review: Mr Nutcase Personalised Mug

If you have a love for mugs like me then you will enjoy this post. I love buying mugs that are really cute, especially Disney ones, to have in my kitchen cupboards so when I do want to have a cup of tea I can have it in a cool mug.

Review: Doll White Teeth Whitening Strips

I have always been keen to try some sort of teeth whitening method and have always been curious about trying strips instead of toothpaste.
I was kindly sent 14 days worth of teeth whitening strips from Doll White* to try them however I only got to day three and stopped using them. I really did not like them.

Review: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

I know I'm a bit late for jumping on the band wagon but I had to wait until Christmas to receive my copy of Girl Online. I finished the book a while a go but have just got round to finding the time to write my thoughts on the novel.

Review: Primark's 8 Hour Hydration Face Cream

Hey! Can I just say...I am loving all the new beauty products Primark has in their beauty section in stores. They have definitely increased the P.S. Love collection and it's amazing! I was having a browse the other day and noticed they now have a lot more things and that's when I came across the 8 Hour Deep Hydration Face Cream for just £2.00. I love trying out new moisturisers as it's something I need to apply everyday since my skin is very dry after being in the shower.

Review: Primark's Nail Polish Fast Dry Spray

I took a trip into Primark recently while Christmas shopping and of course I had to go to their bits and bobs section you know like nail polishes, face wipes, make-up and so on since they are all perfect for stocking fillers when I came across the new P.S Love Your Nails Nail Polish Fast Dry Spray (wow that's long).
I grabbed this without question because it was only 80 frickin' pence! It's only 50ml but it's enough for a few good uses. All you do is spray this on to your nails holding after painting them, holding it a few centimetres away from them and it helps them to dry quicker. I actually really like this one, I just wish it was bigger and had a scent to it.
I already have the Elegant Touch one which I received in one of my Glossy Boxes a while a go and still use it. These are such a great thing to have and use if you are in a hurry and don't have a lot of time to sit and wait for your nails to dry.

Pros:
  • Cheap and cheerful.
  • Lives up to what it's supposed to do.
  • Leaves the nails feeling smooth.

Cons:
  • Wish it came in a bigger can.
  • Scentless.

Review: Batiste Dry Conditioner - Smoothing Conditioning Mist

Did anyone else know Batiste had a dry conditioner or in fact such thing existed? Just me then? I came across this when I was once again in BnM looking for more bargains! I was like "I need to try this!" since I love Batiste Dry Shampoo and had high hopes for it.
You apply this after you've applied your dry shampoo.
I was a little disappointed when I first tried it as it left my hair feeling a bit flat and oily but not totally oily that my hair felt greasy but that might be because this one contains argan oil. I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest but this definitely doesn't leave the white powder on your hair like the shampoo which is good I suppose in a way.
The scent is ok but could be better. I am rubbish at describing smells so I'm not going to try :P. I got it for £1.99 but not sure how much it retails for in other places.

Pros:
  • Cheap
  • Contains argan oil
  • Powderless
Cons:
  • Scent could be better

Review: Garnier Intensive Moisturising Cream

I was in need of a new moisturiser as I ran out of my Nivea one which I love! I need to moisturise everyday as my skin feels so dry after being in the shower. I normally stick to the same moisturiser for my face but I fancied a change.
As always, I was having a wander around BnM seeing what bargains I could find when I came across this moisturiser by Garnier which is the intense care moisturiser for dry and normal skin. It stood out to me because of course it's pink and in a tub rather than a tube which I prefer, and it was only 99p!
As I was needing a new moisturiser anyway I thought I'd get it and give it a go and for the sake of 99p I wasn't at all bothered if it wasn't that great.
I really like this. I love the smell of it and I love how soft it leaves my skin feeling. I also like how you can use it on your body and hands. I've started to moisturise my hands more often so this is perfect for it. Have you tried this?

Pros:
  • It's in a tub rather than a tube so easy to get the product out of packaging.
  • Smell is lovely.
  • Leaves skin feeling smooth.
  • Very cheap!
I can't think of any cons :D

Review: Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo & Conditioner

Unfortunately todays review is (like my last review) not a very good one :(. I have seen a few bloggers rave about how good the new Ultimate Blends shampoo and conditioner by Garnier are and so when I saw it was half price in Tesco at only £1.94 per bottle I gave in a bought it in the coconut oil & cocoa butter. As you all know I love anything with a cocoa butter scent, so I had really high hopes for this.
As you can see from the picture I haven't used it a lot. Only once actually. I hated this. Hated it. Well actually I'll be a bit more fair...I hated the conditioner. The shampoo was ok. The smell of it is probably the only thing I like about it and even at that I feel for a shampoo and conditioner the scent could do with being a bit more powerful.
For the conditioner I felt it was so runny when poured on to my hand and I felt it didn't stick to my hair if that makes sense? Like it just fell off as soon as I applied it to my hair. It also never made my hair feel soft after rinsing what was left of it out. You know after you've rinsed out conditioner your hair feels soooooo soft and smooth? Well this didn't do that. So much so I applied it a second time and again it didn't do much at all.
My hair was still tuggy when I was brushing it, it actually felt like I hadn't used any conditioner at all.
I'm sorry to sound like a total moan but I was very disappointed. Using it once is enough and I can't bring myself to use the conditioner again. I'll keep them both though incase I run out of my other shampoo but for now it's back in the cupboard it goes.

Pros:
  • Smells good
Cons:
  • Expensive (when not on offer)
  • Conditioner didn't leave my hair feeling smooth/soft
  • Doesn't have a good consistency.

Review: Herbal Essences Rose Dry Shampoo

As I said in one of my previous posts here is my review of the new Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo. I have only used the rose scented one so far and to be quite honest I'm not really excited about it.
I was at first when I found out Herbal Essences had brought out their own range of dry shampoos....that's why I bought all 3 fragrances. I had really high hopes for this one but to be honest I hate the scent of it. Out of all 3 the citrus one definitely smells the best so maybe I should've used that one first. The one thing that is good about it is it doesn't leave a white powder on your hair like the Batiste ones do however I feel this one makes your hair feel greasy so then I get paranoid my hair looks greasy.
This retails normally at £2.99 for 180ml which I think is ok I suppose however I purchased them all for £1.99 as they were on special offer at the time.
Also!...after only using it a few times the cap broke so I couldn't get the product to spray. Maybe it was just a faulty one but I wasn't very impressed!
I'm gonna give the other two a chance but wont be using this one again unless I'm in desperate need of it and run out of the others.

Pros:
  • Doesn't leave white powder on your hair.
  • Packaging looks great.
Cons:
  • Made my hair feel greasy.
  • Scent isn't my cup of tea.
  • Cap broke after only using it a few times.
  • Bit on the pricey side for a dry shampoo.

Vaseline Spay & Go Body Moisturiser Review

Ever since I saw these body moisturisers advertised I just knew I wanted and had to try it! I had seen so many great reviews on them also, but was a bit undecided whether to actually spend the £4.99 (which is quite expensive) as I wasn't sure if it was going to be an overrated product just like other products I've tried in the past from reading reviews on them which left me disappointed.
I love Vaseline lip products as I always go on about and my favourite being the Cocoa Butter lip balm, so of course I wanted to try the Cocoa Butter body moisturiser. I know that they already had these scents in lotion formula but I think a spray can is much easier to apply than trying to squeeze every last little bit out of a bottle.
Let's just say, I have been raving about this moisturiser spray ever since I sprayed it on my body for the first time! I really did not expect this to be as good as it is. It sprays on so well and smells AMAZING! It rubs in easily and within seconds it's gone. I like it because it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky which in my opinion makes me feel horrible and makes me want to take another shower.
I also like how it come with a lockable lid which you twist which stops it from leaking (not that I think it would leak) if it's lying flat in your traveling bag or in a drawer.
The smell is my favourite thing about this as it literally reminds me of being on holiday which come on...who doesn't love that smell? :P
I would give this moisturiser 10/10, it really is just awesome and I can't find any flaws with it!

Primark Nail Polish Twist Pot Review

Hi guys! Oops...it's been almost 2 weeks since I last wrote a blog post, I'm sorry!! I've just been so busy with moving cities and with starting a new job it's just been a bit cray cray at the moment but I'm now trying to get back on track with my blog :)
So to start off this week I'm gonna do a quick review on Primark's new nail polish twist pot from their new P.S Love range. I've seen a few people doing reviews on the same product but by different brands and was intrigued by it right away although they are quite pricey and I didn't want  to spend a lot on something I wasn't sure was going to work so that's why I grabbed this one when I came across it as it was only £1.00 and it's actually really good! So what is it? Well it's a little pot that has a sponge inside it which has nail polish remover soaked into it. All you do is put a nail in one at a time and twist the pot so that the sponge rubs against the nail and removes the polish. This is good if you have time to sit and do this but if you are in a hurry, then I would still just use a cotton pad and some nail polish remover from a bottle but for £1.00 I can't complain! I will definitely be buying this again though!

Pros:
  • Cheap
  • Easy to use
  • Does what it says.
Cons:
  • Takes a while to remove the polish
  • Can spill if not careful ( I thought the sponge soaks it all up completely....maybe I'm just being really picky :P)

New Schedule!

Hey lovelies! I have created a new schedule for my blog as I feel it's a bit messy. Instead of blogging random posts on random days of the week I wanted to be more organised and have a schedule of what posts I'm going to write on what days. So, starting from tomorrow (Monday 13th) I am going to post everyday except Saturdays. Posting everyday sounds quite a lot but I'm looking forward to doing it and hopefully you lovely people will look forward to see what's coming. Let me know if you think it's too much though! Here is roughly what my schedule will consist of:

  • Monday - An inspirational quote for the week - to help me get through those Monday blues :P
  • Tuesday - A wish list - so anything I might have seen and want but can't afford
  • Wednesday - A random post - so this could be a haul, nails of the week, my glossy box post, magazine bargain of the month, a review of a product or just a general chat really.
  • Thursday - A get the look post
  • Friday - An outfit of the day (ootd) - a nice simple one for a friday as it's my day off work and is the only time I wear actual nice clothes as I basically live in my work clothes or jammies haha
  • Saturday - This will be my day off from blogging as this is when my boyfriend is home so I want to spend it with him and not sitting on a laptop I hope you understand <3
  • Sunday - My week in pictures
What do you think of this plan? If there are any other posts you think I should give a go then please feel free to let me know in the comments. Oh! Also, I've now got a facebook page which is https://www.facebook.com/gemstrends so would love it if you could "like" my page as I will be putting updates on there about posts and also because......no one likes it yet :( haha!
Thanks for reading dolls! xoxo

Wilkinson Sword Intuition - Naturals Razor Review

Hello!! Today I thought I'd do a review on a product that I received in my December Glossy Box (to see what else I got click here) as I have been loving it!!
It's the Wilkinson Sword Intuition razor and omgggggg it's soooo good! So as it's been the party season every girl wants to look and feel their best right? So of course I was going to shave my legs which I don't really like doing to be honest but lucky for me, my boyfriend lives in Edinburgh and I don't so we only see each other at the weekends so I don't really have a reason to shave my legs during the week! Haha! Is this TMI? Anyways...I was really excited to try out this razor as I don't normally buy good razor blades. This razor leaves my legs feeling soooooooooooo smooth! As you can see from the 3rd pic above that it's got soap around the blade so when you start to shave your legs you don't feel a thing other than how smooth it feels and all soapy! I'm not the best at describing things so I apologise if this is a rubbish review! I would totally recommend this razor as it's really not that expensive. It's only £6.49 and I've seen this in Tesco. I'm not sure how much the replaceable blades cost but I imagine they wouldn't cost that much.
I am going to continue using this as my legs have never felt smoother and also it never misses any hair which can be so annoying when you come out the shower to find you've missed a long strip of hair right down your leg haha!
If any of you guys have tried this razor out then I'd love to know what you thought of it so drop me a comment and tell me :) Have a nice day, peace out xoxo

Primark liquid eyeliner review!

Hi guys! I wanted to do a quick review on Primarks liquid eyeliner which I have been LOVING! When I go into Primark I love going to the section where they have lots of little goodies like nail polish and hand cream and other little things. I came across this liquid eyeliner and wanted to give it a try since it was only £1! I obviously wasn't expecting much from it but I just felt I hadn't found one that I was impressed with. Oh my god.....it's sooo good! It is so easy to apply as it has a soft brush and I feel it goes on so smoothly and it also lasts long! So because of this, I bought another one just to stock up on and I will probably pick one up every time I go into Primark because for just £1 I really can't complain! I would totally recommend this eyeliner just to have in your makeup bag because I really do think you'd be shocked at how good it is! Let me know what you think if you do try it out or have already tried :)
