September was a great month for me as it was full of fun filled events from birthdays, shows, looking at old photos and doing a charity walk for alzheimers scotland.

My grandad has alzheimers so myself and some of my family including my amazing grandad took part in a 5K walk around a beautiful park. The day was so special to me, just being able to spend time with my family. It was also my mum's birthday so it was a nice day for her also.

Me and my boyfriend also went to see Ross Noble who is a comedian incase you don't know who he is at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre. He was so funny and it was a great night.

Apps I Am Currently Loving

                          

I am always looking for new apps to download that would help with blogging. I love reading posts about apps that other people are loving and I've found a few that are great! I thought it was time to do my own post about what apps I am loving at the moment. Enjoy!

Bloglovin - Most of you will be aware of or have this app as it makes blogging so much easier! If you don't know what bloglovin is well it's a website where you make a profile and then link your blog to it. You can follow your favourite bloggers on it and keep up to date with their posts. So basically this is a mobile version of the website and a easy way to check up on posts when you're on the move :).

Instagram - One of the best apps ever! I love taking pictures so this app is the best picture sharing app out there. It's like twitter where you follow people and keep up to date with their pictures.

Blogger - I have this app as my blog is written with blogger.com. This is a quick way to upload a post if you are not near a laptop or computer or even just make a draft of something you want to post in the future. You can also upload pictures from your phone straight to your blog with this app.

Hootesuit - I just recently found out about this one and it's genius! Do any of you find it really annoying when you forget about a chat that's going on on twitter and you miss out on all the fun? Same! Well if you are one for forgetting about the chats then this is the app for you! Basically it links to your twitter and you can schedule any tweets you want to send and you don't have to worry about remembering to be on twitter at a certain time! You can choose the date and the time and it does it automatically for you! How amazing is that?! It also links to your facebook and you can do the same! And to top it off....it's FREE!

Afterlight - This is my favourite photo editing app. It has so many different filters which make your photos look even more amazing! It also as a great range of borders to put round your pictures. 

Depop "Hello we're open" - This app is great for selling things you don't want or need anymore! It's like eBay in a way but with the following aspect like instagram/twitter. You set up your profile and then sell what you like. You can follow your favourite sellers and everything they sell will come up on your newsfeed.

Kardashian - Now for a bit of guilty pleasure! I love this app haha! You start off as a normal person and work your way up to be an A list Celebrity by doing acting jobs and modelling. Haha! It sounds pretty rubbish but it's quite addicting! 

Family Guy - Haha another silly one is the Family Guy app which is similar to The Simpsons Tapped Out one where you build a town and unlock different characters. Not really much to say about it but again it's really addictive.

A little thank you...

My tattoos

I got my first tattoo when I was 18 (I think) and it's a pair of ballet shoes. Why did I go for ballet shoes? Well....as you may know from one of my previous posts I love to dance so I wanted to get something that meant something to me so that's why I went for a pair of ballet shoes. I thought it was special to me and of course I still do and I don't regret it. I thought ballet shoes were nice and appropriate rather than a tattoo of a break dancer haha! This one is on my right wrist and wasn't too painful :p So yeah here's a pic of it :)

My second tat is a heart but I wanted it a bit different to any normal heart. I have to say that I actually came across this heart on one of Britney Spears perfumes bottles - Believe. When I saw it I fell in love with it straight away and wanted to get a tattoo of it. I know it sounds a bit sad but hey ho! This one is on my hip and was the least sore out of all 3.

And last but not least my third tattoo. I got this one when I was holiday this year and yes don't worry I made sure the place was clean and was a proper tattoo place :) I actually saw a picture of someone who has this on instagram and I loved it as soon as I saw it! Obviously it's the lyric from Rihanna's song so whenever that song comes on I'm always prancing about lifting my top up (not like that) showing it off haha! This is on my side just under where my bra sits so I feel it's quite sexy and especially if I'm wearing a dress that has cut outs at the side ;). This was very sore so if you're thinking about getting a tattoo in this area then prepare yoursef! :p 

I've also just realised since taking this pic of it that the "e" on the end has faded slightly which I'm quite annoyed about since I only got it done in April :(

Get Well Soon Charles

Hi guys! Just wanted to write a little bit about one of my favourite YouTubers Charles Trippy (Ctfx). About a year ago when he was on tour with his band We The Kings (check them out they're amazing) he collapsed and when he was in the hospital he was told he had had a seizure. After more tests he was then told he had a small tumour which he then had removed. Recently he's been having a few more seizures and the doctors told him he would have to have more surgery to get the small piece of tumour which was still there removed but he would have to be awake!!!....AWAKE?! This was so they could ask him questions and move things to make sure they didn't do anything they shouldn't have done. He had this done today and I know by some photos I've seen on facebook/instagram that he is in recovery and looks like it went fine. 

Before he went into surgery for the op he asked his surgeon if he could vlog during the surgery and they said yes! I know it sounds wrong but I can't wait to see what he vlogs. This vlog will probably get so many views which will be so good for him. Anyway....the reason I'm writing about this is because I would love for you to go send him your thought's and prayers for not only him, but for his wife Ally and also his family and friends.

Welcome To Gemstrends

Hello! So I've decided to start blogging and have no idea how it's going to go! I want to do it for a bit of fun and because I love reading and following other peoples blogs and also love watching beauty gurus on YouTube! This isn't going to be one of those beauty blogs but will have a bit of everything in it such as fashion, some beauty products as I am subscribed to GlossyBox so I want to share with you what I receive every month, and just simply other things that are going on in my life. So who am I? My name's Gemma and I'm 23. I'm from Scotland and work full time as an Optical Assitant in an Opticians at the moment. Thats me in the picture above being a bit of a bam really and taking an "selfie" for Instagram :D I would love some suggestions from anyone as to what I should blog about and what people would love to see!
